Skills and rules
Save instructions you reuse as a skill, tell the AI how to behave with a rule, and choose where each one applies.
Skills and rules both shape what the AI does, in chats, agents, tasks and workflows. A skill is a set of instructions for a job that you call when you need it, such as "write meeting notes our way". A rule says how the AI should behave in a given situation, such as "never quote prices without VAT". Both are under Skills and Rules in the left-hand menu.
Create a skill
Open Skills
Choose Skills, then New skill. You can start from an example under Quick start with an example.
Fill it in
Give it a Shortcut (type / in a chat), a Name and the Instructions. A Description and a Category help others find it.
Choose who sees it
Under Visibility, choose Personal (only you), Team or Organisation. Only workspace admins can share with the whole organisation.
Use it in a chat by typing / and its shortcut, or pick it on the Skills tab of the / menu. On an agent, add it in the Setup tab.
Create a rule
Open Rules
Choose Rules, then New rule.
Describe the situation and the behaviour
Give the rule a name, describe When does this apply? and write the Expected behaviour / output.
Choose where it applies
A rule that is off applies only when you pick it from the
/menu in a chat. Switch on Always apply and choose the parts of the app it covers: Chat, Tasks, Agents and Workflows.
New workspaces start with a few starter rules. Review them on the Rules page and change or delete what does not fit.
Rules and skills for everyone
Workspace admins and team managers can make a rule or skill Required for everyone in its scope. It then applies to every AI call there by default. Members can still turn it off for themselves per part of the app, unless it is also Locked. A locked rule or skill can be edited or deleted only by team managers and admins.

Good to know
- Deleting a skill or rule that an agent uses removes it from that agent too. The app tells you which agents are affected first.
- Sharing an agent also shares its skills and rules, so the agent keeps working for the people you share it with.
- A project can carry its own skills and rules. See Projects.
